Los Angeles, CA -- The Hollywood Bowl will come alive with the spirit of New Orleans on Wednesday, August 18, at 8 p.m. as The Neville Brothers, Preservation Hall Jazz Band & Trey McIntyre Dance Project, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band take the stage to continue the 2010 Jazz series.

The Neville Brothers make their only appearance in Los Angeles this year at the Hollywood Bowl. Otherwise known as the “First Family of Funk,” Arthur, Charles, Aaron and Cyril Neville have recently devoted much of their time to Gulf Aid, whose mission is to provide relief to the fishing communities of the Gulf Coast and address the long-term challenge of restoring American coastal wetlands. Aaron Neville plans to release a new record in late October 2010 produced by Joe Henry.

Even though Preservation Hall and its namesake ensemble was founded in New Orleans in 1961, nearly five decades later, Preservation Hall Jazz Band is still representing the music of New Orleans. The group recently recorded a single, “It Ain’t My Fault” with Lenny Kravitz, Trombone Shorty, and Tim Robbins under the name The Gulf Aid All-Stars with the proceeds going to benefit Gulf Coast cleanup efforts. In February the group released Preservation: An Album benefitting Preservation Hall & the Preservation Hall Music Outreach Program to much acclaim. Featuring collaborations with Tom Waits, Brandi Carlile, and Yim Yames, Paste Magazine recently named it their number one album of the year so far. Their newest collaboration, featuring the Trey McIntyre Project, Ma Maison, has been described as “an artistic triumph,” by the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
